Meet The Missionaries:

Greg Patros

(2025-2026 Missionary)

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.”

1 Corinthians 9:34-35

My Story

Growing up in a Catholic family on fire for the Lord, the idea of a mission year was always encouraged. However, up until about a year and a half ago, I told myself that I would find a way to get out of mission work, following high school. My heart was very much hardened to the idea of giving up a whole year of my life to serve others. That is until I found a job as a Valet in downtown St. Paul. Throughout my time working as a Valet, I continuously had the pleasure of interacting and conversing with the men and women who were homeless in the area. Each and every time that I would take the time to talk with these people, I was struck by the way that I truly encountered Christ in each person. It was through these interactions that my heart began to soften and started to hear the Lord calling me to greater relationship with him through his sons and daughters on the streets. A few months after getting a job as a Valet, I was invited to serve at an event in Minneapolis that sought to offer care and resources to thousands of men and women experiencing homelessness. As I handed out hats, gloves, sleeping bags, and many more necessities, I was once again struck with this desire to love these people as Christ loves them and to be his witness. It was that day that Christ tore down all barriers to my heart and called me into deeper mission with the many men and women experiencing homelessness. As I stepped back into regular day to day life, I was actively searching for a way to fulfill the Lord’s calling and pursue further relationship with the homeless. It was at this time that I first heard of Source of All Hope from a friend of mine, Gianna Schmidt, who is a current Source missionary. She shared why she was so drawn to Source and its mission to give Christ a home and to remain with Him, especially in all the places He’s most neglected—the Eucharist, the Poor, and our own souls. I knew immediately that this was a mission I needed to pursue. After contacting the mission, the love and passion they shared for their friends on the streets made it abundantly clear that Christ was asking me to say yes to his call to pursue him in a more intimate way–the streets of Baltimore, in my own heart, and in the Eucharist. I am extremely excited to pursue this calling and through that, push myself to new ends in a radically new way and to love those in the streets as Christ called us to do so!

Become a Mission Partner

Pursuing my calling as a missionary is only possible through the spiritual and financial support of mission partners. Your investment in this mission enables our community to go out and share life with our friends on the street day after day, where we address their biggest source of suffering—isolation—in a way that nobody else can. All the missionaries in our community are nourished and equipped through daily opportunities for spiritual, intellectual, and human formation; moreover, we will spend time in prayer before Christ in the Eucharist, growing closer in intimacy with the Lord and interceding for the needs of this suffering city. Your support makes all the difference, and I want to invite you to invest in both me and my community. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know the best way to reach you and I will happily schedule a time to meet!
